Dr. Christoph Jörges participated in the Young Talent Academy hei_Instruments in Heidelberg. Over three days, early-career researchers from the disciplines Geography, Informatics, Medicine, and Psychology gathered at the Villa Bosch to brainstorm inter- and transdisciplinary project ideas, guided by senior experts.

Hei_Instruments aims to inspire collaboration of young researchers across disciplines, focusing on developing tools and strategies for climate change adaptation.

During the event, Christoh teamed up with Beatrice Ellerhoff and Carla Bockermann to explore the potential of hybrid machine learning and GHG emission modelling in assessing paludicultures for climate mitigation in Europe. Their project proposal is now moving forward, with mentorship from senior researchers to refine their ideas.
